Travel Alert — South Street Closure
Please be aware that the block of South Street between Dawson and McDowell streets is now permanently closed. The closure will make room for the relocation of Red Hat Amphitheater. The amphitheater is moving to make room for the Raleigh Convention Center expansion. Please see a map and written directions below to help you navigate your route smoothly and arrive comfortably to your seat.
Alternate Routes
If traveling via North Dawson Street:
- Turn left onto Lenoir Street.
- Continue for two blocks.
- Turn right onto Salisbury Street.
- Proceed one block to reach the Martin Marietta Center.
If traveling north via Wilmington Street:
- No changes or detours—your route remains unaffected.
If traveling south on U.S. 401 (S. McDowell St):
- No detours required. Drivers can still turn right onto South Street to access Meymandi Concert Hall.
