Born in Riga, Latvia, Oskar Ozolinch started playing violin at the age of four. He attended the Riga Special School of Music in 1975. He later became a student at the Latvian State Conservatory in 1987.
In 1990, Ozolinch was accepted to the Artist Certificate program at Southern Methodist University. He was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida under the artistic direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. He was also the Assistant Principal Second Violin of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra in New Orleans, Louisiana.
